Silamide is a two-ply twisted nylon size A thread which many beadworkers use as an alternative to Nymo. It’s ideal for just about every beading stitch including peyote, brick stitch & loom weaving, & works great for beads with small holes. The thread has a “tooth,” or texture, that keeps beads from slipping while you work. As a result, beadwork designs have a more consistent tension. Silamide was originally designed for use by tailors and dressmakers because of its texture and strength, and has become highly requested in the jewelry-making world for the same reasons.
