Carrier beads can be made from acrylic or Czech glass. They have two holes for stringing and measure 17x9x5mm.
These 2 hole pillow shaped beads were designed to be used as a base or a "carrier" to hold a thin strip of peyote stitch. Miyuki 11/0 Delica Seed beads are used to weave a strip just 7 beads across and 50 rows long, zip stitch that into a loop, and slip onto the carrier bead.
Using pattern and color variations for these strips, your design possibilities are endless!
Both acrylic and Czech glass carrier beads are sold in sets of 10 beads.
For a clasped bracelet, I would recommend a minimum of 10 carrier beads and 15 for a stretch bracelet. For a necklace, 25 to 30 carrier beads would work well.
